1) How has the internship been the same as and/or different than your expectations?

I thought that my internship was going to be very easy. Because make copies,fax and pick up the phone. Also i went to mail office with Lysna.

2)What is similar and different about the culture of the school environment versus the workplace environment?

Where i work , people are dressed up really nice, some time they are very professional also some of them are very funny

3) What new skills have you learned that apply to the workplace? Which of these are transferable skills?

I learned how to pick up the phone, also how to scan and fax any paper work. I LEARNED SOME THINGS THAT ARE VERY IMPORTANT.

What kind of relationship do you have with your mentor and co-workers? How have you grown as a result of interacting with professional adults? What kinds of communication (verbal and non-verbal skills) have you gained?

I am able to talk with my mentor about SOME thing. We talk about scolarship , and about college how i can wrok hard to get my HIGH SCHOOL DIPLOMA.

What challenges at the internship have you faced that you have overcome?
lysna stephanie and i had a list of people's name and i had to find their paper work, the problem was that no one knew where their paper work was.

What challenges have you faced in school as a result of the altered schedule and how are you handling them?
I have a lot of H.W and essay that i have to write and sometime it is very hard for me to find time to do everything because i go home at 5 or 6 pm very tired . I don't even have time to take care myself .

The End of the Fourth Week of Internships

The tasks and duties of my internship are always changing so there is no such thing as a typical day.

I work in an office with many other people. Everyone work in their own tasks so they work alone in some way. Of course, at the end they put everything together. I work with Stephanie and lysna in us own tasks too. Of course if I need help I just have to ask for it. I work in the room with other people. The room is full of computers and desks. Everyone has their own desk, which they use to put their personal stuff.

In my first day of the third week my mentor, Tia told me how they work in this place so that i could handle this place. like if i can make this work or not to tell me what is my personal job that i have in this place. She also told me to look at some creole scripts even I am not the only person who speaks creole. I corrected some stuff that didn't make sense and check them one more time. After that i kept writing about things that I wanted to say to the world. In my second day he brought me new creole scripts. I checked them out, fix some stuff and put it on the desk. After that they make me makes cpoies for them. That's all I did in my third week.

week three- life as a high school

I work in an office called Dwa Fanm with many other people. Everyone work in their own tasks so they work alone in some way. I work with Stephanie, Lysna and i. Of course if I need help I just have to ask for it. I work in room with other people. The room is full of computers and desks. Everyone has their own desk, which they use to put their personal stuff.

In my first day of the third week my mentor, Tia told me to go to the email office to check some email. Shes also told me to look at some creole scripts since I am the only person who could write in creole. I corrected some stuff that didn't make sense and check them. After that i kept writing about things that I wanted to say to the world. In my second day i fix some stuff, like they have baby clothes, toy,and i clean the office for them. I checked them out, fix some stuff and put it on the desk. After that my imentor told me if i want i can go to internet to looking about the scolarship programm to know what i could know for my future, to know what i need to have scolarship, what skills i could have. It was stephanie and i. That's all I did in my third week.

week 2!! My development

This week i had a lot of tasks to do everyday. I feel very good! Because i get development my work! 

Thursday i went to the shelter to help people. i came there i saw a lot of people, but must of them it's young people. What i did is to fix the food for them, clean their room, talking to them about life. And came to my internship site to finish do my work. It was to fix the paper in order in the binder, pick up the phone. But those work not easy to do it ..... I still  working hard  on my tasks. Because i like to help people.

Wednesday it was more hard for me because i did too much work. I make a lot of  photocopy,pick up the phone and went to the shelter again. I know in America don't have easy work that's why i didn't discourage to do my work.
